Old Shack

Old Shack

Old Shack (2019), pencil on art paper, A3.

Old Shack is a representation of being overworked and stressed. Made of materials that fade over time, the shack has seen better days and still stands, despite feeling weathered and worn. The rust on the roof reads the phrase ‘worn out’, and the side of the small building has already fallen apart. Based on a real shack that was once a very small house, currently being used to shelter hay, the drawing highlights the feeling of needing space to recover and heal, only to brace the elements again.
