The Lone Tree

The Lone Tree

The Lone Tree (2019), acrylic on canvas, A2 size.

Painted live at the Yarra Glen Art Show, 2019, The Lone Tree is about a tree I came across in Vancouver, Canada. It was all alone on top of a cliff not far from shore. However small, it seemed to stand confidently, ready to brave all the weather and circumstances that would arise. The tree is almost out of view, highlighting the difficult surrounds.

The artwork is a metaphor for living when you are delt with a difficult hand.
